Discussion regarding speed limit reduction requests due to developments; and clarification by Sheriff Stammen that patrolling by officers would remain a normal course of activity in all areas. Ordinance No. 170-04 Establishing Taxes to be Levied in Sauk County for Year 2005. Moved (White/Alexanderl). Discussion regarding bonding and borrowing.

Motion (Hartje/Montgomery), to amend the ordinance by leaving 26 cents on the levy rate to raise the amount to $4.94 per $1,000.00. Discussion in support of, and in opposition to increase. Vote totals on motion to amend: AYES: (5) Meister, Hartje, Montgomery, White, and Sprecher. Gene Wiegand, Administrative Coordinator, stated this action would have no impact on the levy. Motion (Cassity/Krueger), to amend the amended ordinance by adding $68,000.00 to the Solid Waste Department Budget from the Solid Waste Fund Balance. Notation that this action would have no impact on the levy. Discussion regarding disposal of appliances; clean sweep programs; and trying a one year transition period. Further discussion in support of, and in opposition to motion to amend.
