The regular meeting of the Sauk County Arts, Humanities and Historic Preservation Committee was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 4:00 p.m. by Art Carlson.
Members present: Arthur Carlson, Rose White, Henry Netzinger, Carol Sorg, Peter Tollaksen
Members excused: Lola Huber, Judy Ashford
Others present: Kathy Schauf, Peter Shrake, Robert Dewel
The agenda was approved on a motion by Tollaksen, second by Netzinger, and an unanimous vote of the Committee. The minutes of the prior meeting were approved as amended on a motion by White, second by Sorg, and an unanimous vote of the Committee.

Notification of the WAHPC Spring meeting - April 22-23, 2005.
The Committee received and invitation to the Edgewood College Student Art Exhibit, Wednesday, April 13, 2005.
Letter from Gregory Lange regarding grant process.
Notification of upcoming county events was provided in the Baraboo City Newsletter.
The LAH 2003 report on the state of local arts agencies released it's major findings.
Art Carlson noted an upcoming Rural Musicians Concert in Spring Green.
Concern over duplicating the efforts of the Historical Society.
Motion by Tollaksen, second by Carlson to table this item. Motion carried.
Concern was expressed over having adequate resources to address
this project at this time.

The following will be initiated during the next grant cycle to improve grant process. Line by line instructions; Workshop; Consultation services.
There was also a discussion regarding awards and the appropriateness of having a process that relies on an application alone for recommending awards. Consensus of committee to maintain program parameters as originally stated.
A meeting will be scheduled with the County Clerk to begin this process.
Motion by Tollaksen, second by White to approve the proclamation and forward to the county board for consideration. Motion carried.
Motion by Tollaksen, second by Netzinger to approve the payment of vouchers in the amount of $9,563.68. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned on a motion by Tollaksen, seconded by Netzinger, with an unanimous committee vote.
Next meeting date was set for 4:00 p.m. On May 20, 2005, in the Community Room at the Plain Public Library in Plain, Wisconsin.
