The regular meeting of the Sauk County Arts, Humanities and Historic Preservation Committee was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 4:40 p.m. by Art Carlson.
Members present: Arthur Carlson, Rose White,
Carol Sorg, Peter Tollaksen, Judy Ashford
Members excused: Lola Huber, Henry Netzinger
Others present: Kathy Schauf
The agenda was approved on a motion by Ashford, second by White, and a unanimous vote of the Committee. The minutes of the prior meeting were approved on a motion by White, second by Sorg, and a unanimous vote of the Committee.

Discussion and consideration of a request for funding by the Spring Green Area Arts Coalition for the Center for Creativity and Innovation. Jan Von Stien appeared to present information on the Center for Creativity and Innovation. Costs for 2006 are estimated at $30,000. The goal is to recognize and celebrate creativity in business, government, education, the arts and civic life. The committee considered the request and have foregone a final decision pending additional information, and budgetary considerations.
Consideration of membership in the Wisconsin Historical Society
Motion by Ashford, second by Tollaksen to approve membership. Motion carried.
Artist Registry - No new applications to consider.
County Courthouse - The subcommittee reported on current events being planned.
Humanities Speakers - Speakers have been confirmed. Venues and final paperwork are being processed. June 7th is first speaker presentation in Spring Green.
Historic Preservation Month - Panelists have agreed to process, press releases have been distributed. Awards will be announced at the end of the month.
Cultural Resources Directory - Members will be identified and work begun.
Motion by Tollaksen, second by Sorg to approve the payment
of vouchers in the amount of $5,116.57.
Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned on a motion by Tollaksen, seconded by Sorg, with an unanimous committee vote. Next meeting date was set for 1:00 p.m. On June 10, 2005, in Marshall Memorial Hall, Lake Delton, Wisconsin.
