  Ordinance No. 155-05 Amending Chapter 13 and Chapter 35 Of The Sauk County Code Of Ordinances Pertaining To The Duties And Responsibilities Of The Administrative Coordinator. Moved (Hartje/Alexander).

  Moved (Montgomery/Stoeckmann), to amend section 35.05(a) of the proposed amendment by adding “and the oversight Committee”, at the end of the second sentence. Todd Liebman, Corporation Counsel, gave his legal opinion that the intention of the proposed amendment it that the oversight committee has to approve department head appointments made by the Administrative Coordinator before appointments go before the full Board for approval. Discussion regarding wording of ordinance.

  Moved, (White), to table ordinance. Todd Liebman, Corporation Counsel, ruled the motion to table out of order.

  Motion, (Lombard/Zowin), to postpone Ordinance No. 155-05 to the January 17, 2006 Sauk County Board of Supervisors meeting.

  Motion, (Kriegl/Wheeler), to amend the motion to postpone Ordinance No. 155-05 to the January 17, 2006 Sauk County Board of Supervisors meeting my adding: “To direct the Executive and Legislative Committee to revise Sauk County ordinance 35.05 so that hiring and firing of department heads that are not elected, or whose employment status is not otherwise dictated by State statute, will be made by the County Board upon a joint recommendation of the Administrative Coordinator and the oversight committee, (possibly also involve a second committee as appropriate). Further, that if there is an urgency to advertise and recruit for the position of Administrative Coordinator, that it be advertised as an Administrative Coordinator with no more authority than is specified in State statutes.”
