- Business Items:
Update on Fiber Optics: Tim Stieve
handed out an update on the project (copy attached) from
Ellis McFadzen, Ellis was also present to provide verbal
report. Discussed changes in the overall route. Discussed
the exchange of services with Reedsburg Utilities. Discussed
putting in our own duct versus utilizing the Reedsburg
duct in exchange we would provide fiber from Reedsburg
to Delton. Tim & Phil asked to work on it but favored
keeping it as clean as possible with a good paper trail.
- Merrimac: Not much to report, still
waiting on the moratorium. Looking at some other possible
sites.
- Courthouse: Spoke with Sabre Tower
engineer and it appears that we should be able to go
with a new, smaller tower. Will probably work on this
site last as no hurry.
- Hemlock: Lavalle Telephone Company
terminated things at the tower end, waiting for TechCom
to get the Reedsburg end completed.
- Lake Delton: Power is completed
as is most of the compound. Can only move limited items
to the site until the fiber is completed. Working with
Alliant to co-locate.
- Hillpoint: Have a tentative site
selected with property owner. Working on another meeting
with property owner to look at site details.
- Sauk City: Power is on. Will be
working over the next couple weeks to get everything
installed and running. Looking at a non licensed microwave
as to use for communications back to Happy Hill until
fiber is in. Will run around $9000 per site and if
the equipment doesn't work they will take it back at
no cost to us. Committee gave the go ahead to move
forward with this equipment.
- Spring Green: Todd working with
Neuheisel Attorney on negotiations. Survey is completed.
- IWCE: Discussed possible attendance
at this next year. This conference has the latest on
technology and would provide valuable information on
the technologies and changes taking place.

be April 6th, @ 7:30 am at the EMBS Meeting Room, Room 128,
at the Sauk County Courthouse.
