Property & Insurance Committee Meeting Minutes

- Meeting called to order by Hartje at 8:00 a.m. Certification
of compliance with Open Meeting Law was met.
- Adopt agenda: Motion by Volz, second by Krueger to approve
agenda.
Carried.
- Adopt minutes: Motion by Krueger, second by Volz, to approve
last month's minutes.
Carried.
- Public Comment - Hartje asked Stieve to calculate costs
associated with the unused portion of the Law Enforcemet
Center. Stieve said he would check into this.
- Communications
- Request from Sauk County Art Association to use
Courthouse square lawn for Annual Summer Art Classic
on August 13, 2005 from 6:00 am - 6:00 pm, to set up
the day before and also for the use of the restrooms
in the Courthouse for the artists. Motion by Volz,
second by Dippel to approve request.
Carried.
- Request from City of Baraboo Police Department to
utilize southern half of the West Square parking lot
for handicapped parking during the Great Circus Parade
on June 25. Motion by Dippel, second by Volz to approve
request.

- Business Items
- Treasurer -- nothing to report
- Departmental Updates - Carl Gruber, Risk Management
- Monthly Report -- set up Physical Job Analysis for
Health Care Center, Human Services and Public Health;
ordered new audiometer; went over fit testings on respirators
with Public Health; ordered safety supplies; worked
on setting an accident; attended Emergency Traffic
Control course; worked on 10 workers' comp cases and
1 open liability case; held a training on how to handle
clients; set of Automatic External Defibrillator re-certification
classes for Highway; worked on 3 ergonomic evaluations;
attended department head meeting; spoke with Risk Manager
for Wood County and sent safety manual; worked on a
denied case from Independent Medical Exams; attended
Rural Safety Days meeting.
- Review & approval of deductibles -- Motion by
Krueger, second by Volz to approve deductibles of $0.00.
Carried.
- Departmental Updates - Tim Stieve, Buildings & Safety
- Monthly Report -- spent approximately 4 hours on
phone problems, additions, changes; still having issues
with controls in West Square & Courthouse; chillers
are being prepared for the cooling season; remodel
on the south end of the first floor has slowed due
to staff shortage; waiting to hear from Blakeslee on
the third floor remodel; one employee off with injury,
return date unknown; planters for West Square ordered.
- Review and approval of vouchers -- Motion by Krueger,
second by Volz to approve monthly vouchers (excluding
several utility bills) totalling $62,907.14, . Carried.
- Stieve has been checking into the costs of having
an 800 number for the Courthouse, but it is not in
the budget at this time.
- Next Meeting: Monday, May 9, 2005 at 8:00 a.m.
- Meeting adjourned at 9:15 am. Motion by Volz, second by
Dippel.
