6. Review and Approve Vendor Vouchers. Discussion followed. Motion by Sprecher, seconded by Stevens to approve March 2005 bills in the amount of $ 232,949.03. Motion carried.
7. Review and Approve Employee Requests For Vacation Carryovers.

8. Airport Report. Discussion followed.
Zoning plan for approach lights at Tri-County Airport hasn't received any opposition yet. Discussed sale of County property (5 acres) to Pecks Farm Market on STH 14.
Motion by Sinklair, seconded by Meister to propose $ 5,000.00/acre for sale price.

9. Review and Approve Contract for Design of CTH V Bridge Project at 9:00 a.m. Project to start in May - complete in August (design work). Construction to take place in 2007.
Motion by Sprecher, seconded by Stevens to approve Design of CTH V Bridge Project designed by Jewell & Associates . Total amount of design contract is $ 55,033.85

10. Review and Approve Quotes on Construction Materials and Liquid Asphalt at 9:30 a.m.
12 Bids were received for Road Construction Materials and Liquid Asphalt.
Motion by Stevens, seconded by Sinklair to purchase materials which would be most advantageous to Sauk County.
Motion carried.
11. Discuss Replacement of Wheeled Excavator. Discussion followed.
No action.
12. Review and Approve Purchase of Quad Axle Truck Equipment.
Motion by Stevens, seconded by Sprecher to purchase Quad Axle Truck Equipment from Rowe Truck Equipment in the amount of $ 10,842.00 and Kenosha Suspension Specialists in the amount of $ 5,990.00 .
Motion carried.
13. Discuss Replacement of Department Retirees. Discussion followed.
No action.
14. Discuss 2005 Road Construction Program. The Dept. will begin working on CTH PF the week of April 13th. During construction, CTH PF will be open to traffic.
Bridge replacement on CTH S will begin soon.
15. Discuss Petition of the Village of Sauk City for the Removal of a Railroad Crossing Located on Carolina Street. Discussion followed.
Motion by Sprecher, seconded by Meister to support Village's petition.

16. Discuss Reorganization of WisDot. Districts have been reorganized, Sauk County is now in Southwest Region with 15 other counties. There are no longer any districts.
17. Representatives from Capital City International to Discuss Buy-back Program for Quad-axle trucks.
Motion by Stevens, seconded by Sinklair to trade Unit#308 for one new IHC Quad Axle Dump Truck from Capital City International for $ 3,700.00 .
Motion carried.
18. Discuss WCHA Summer Highway Conference. District 8 will be hosting the Summer Highway Conference on June 13, 14, and 15, 2005 at the Kalahari Resort & Conference Center.
No action.
19. Discuss Spring Highway Inspection Tour. The Spring Highway Inspection Tour will start at Longley's Restaurant in Reedsburg at 7:30 a.m. on April 29, 2005.
No action.

4. Approve Resolution Authorizing Director to Apply for Outdoor Motorized Recreation Trail Aids. John McKenna, Town of Spring Green resident, spoke in opposition of creating ATV trails in County Forest. He addressed soil erosion and noise impact.
Motion by Hartje, seconded by Stevens authorizing Director to apply for Outdoor Motorized Recreation Trail Aids.
Motion carried.
Motion by Sinklair, seconded by Stevens to adjourn to the next regularly scheduled meeting set for Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at 8:00 a.m. at the Highway Department Office. Motion carried.
