  2. Adopt Agenda. Motion by Stevens, seconded by Sinklair.

  3. Adopt Minutes of Previous Meeting. Motion by Meister, seconded by Stevens. Motion carried.
  4. Public Comment.

    Gerald Schmidt - Spoke in opposition of ATV trail and presented letter detailing the Town of Spring Green's Comprehensive Plan.

    John McKenna - Stated several points in opposition to proposed ATV trail at County Forest and also noted several corrections to a recent editorial regarding the proposed ATV trail.
    No Action.

  5. Communications.

    None

  6. Review and Approve Vendor Vouchers. Discussion followed. Motion by Stevens, seconded by Meister to approve April 2005 bills in the amount of $ 140,204.00 .

  7. Review and Approve Employee Requests For Vacation Carryovers.

    Dale Bauer - 19.50 hours Robert Bonham - 18.44 hours

    Richard Demars - 76.50 hours Richard Greenwood - 27 hours

    Donald Jones - 24 hours Bradley Krueger - 23 hours

    Steven Schmidt - 192 hours Gary Wohling - 6 hours

    Steve Zimmerman - 113 hours

    Motion by Sinklair, seconded by Stevens to approve vacation carryovers.

  8. Airport Report. Discussion followed.
    No Action.
  9. Discuss Filling of Vacant Positions Due to Retirements. Discussion followed. The Highway Department needs to fill 2 Tandem Driver positions and 1 Skilled Laborer position, all of which are currently vacant. The job descriptions for these positions have changed slightly to reflect new CDL requirements.

    Motion by Meister, seconded by Sinklair to approve position recruitment.
    Motion carried.

  10. Discuss Surface Treatment for CTH H. Discussion followed. CTH H is in need of a surface treatment from CTH P to STH 13. Bids will be reviewed for the project at the June, '05 meeting.
    No Action.
  11. Discuss Equipment Purchases for 2005. Discussion followed. The Department needs to replace one Power Broom, one 14,000 lb. Skid Loader Trailer with air brakes and one Rubber-tired Excavator. Also coming due on the Buy-back Program are one D5 Dozer, one 950 Loader, and one Track Backhoe.

    Motion by Stevens, seconded by Sinklair to approve purchase of Wheeled Excavator from FABCO in the amount of $ 165,531.00 .

  12. Discuss CTH Road Construction Projects for 2005. Discussion followed. Bids for the

    CTH W, X and PF projects will be reviewed at the June, '05 meeting.
    No Action.

  13. Discuss Request for Speed Limit Reduction on CTH B in Village of Plain. Discussion followed.

    Motion by Stevens, seconded by Sinklair to approve Request for Speed Limit Reduction on CTH B in Village of Plain.
    Motion carried.

  14. Discuss WCHA Summer Conference. Discussion followed. Conference is scheduled for June 13, 14, and 15, 2005 at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
    No Action.

    Motion by Meister, seconded by Sinklair to adjourn to the next regularly scheduled meeting set for Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at 8:00 a.m. at the Highway Department office.

  1. Approve Vouchers. Discussion followed. Motion by Meister, seconded by Sinklair to approve April 2005 bills in the amount of $ 3,311.19 .

  2. Discuss ATV use in County Forest. Discussion followed. Koenig to talk to DNR and get their recommendation on ATV trail proposal.

    Motion by Hartje, seconded by Stevens to approve Koenig attending ATV Trail Planning Workshop in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
    Motion carried.

  3. Update on County Forest Tree Planting. Discussion followed.
    No Action.
  4. Discuss adding Electrical Sites @ WMP Campground. Discussion followed. Koenig is waiting for project bids to be submitted.
    No Action.
  5. Discuss Trash Pickup. Discussion followed.

  6. Discuss possible VARC Worker in Parks. Discussion followed.
    No Action.
  7. Review and Approve Sealed Bids on Sale of Nachreiner Property. Todd Liebman stated that after bids were submitted, someone spread manure on subject property, allegedly contaminating it. The bidder with the top three bids consequently withdrew his two highest bids. Liebman stated that the Sheriff's Department is investigating the matter and that the issue should be tabled until the investigation is complete. Pending the status of the investigation, Sauk County will disc the land and incorporate the manure.

    Motion by Sinklair, seconded by Stevens to reject all bids on the sale of the Nachreiner Property.
    Motion carried.

    Motion by Stevens, seconded by Sinklair to accept bid of $ 300.00 for one acre at Elefson property.
    Motion carried.

    Motion by Meister, seconded by Sinklair to adjourn to the next regularly scheduled meeting set for Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at 8:00 a.m. at the Highway Department Office.
