The special meeting of the Grant Review Art Panel was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 4:30 p.m. by Kathy Schauf.
Members present: Larry McCoy, Valerie McAuliffe, Mark Tully, Mary Grow
Others present: Kathy Schauf, Art Carlson
The agenda was approved on a motion by McCoy, second by McAuliffe.
Introductions were made. The process procedures for considering the grants
was discussed. Motion by Tully, second by McAuliffe to have Larry McCoy
serve as chair.
Motion carried.
V. McAuliffe recused self from discussion and vote. Exemplary in community involvement and array of artistic media components associated with the event. Potential to be an exciting project, educational and sophisticated in design. Recommended full funding - $5,000.00.
L. McCoy and M. Tully recused themselves from discussion and vote. Good community involvement. Wide variety of opportunities. Inclusiveness and scope are good. Appropriateness of awarding money to this venture. Recommended full funding - $5,000.
Model for excellence. Interaction and relationship between actors and students has been exemplary. Recommended full funding - $2,000.
Application would have been stronger if they would have addressed evaluation. Expenses are reasonable. Considered location (logistics) very well. Did not fully explain the outputs for the programs. Recommended full funding - $1,150.
Well thought out with audience in mind. Everyone involved in teaching stagecraft. The inkind contributions were impressive. Recommended full funding - $700.
Panelists had concerns over budget, financial issues that were unclear, particularly the Middle School involvement. All money going toward printing, promotion and publicity. Scholarships would have improved the proposal. Expensive for number of performances. Recommendation for no funding.
Project is good, very innovative. Looks like a lot of fun. Some details were unclear. Recommended full funding - $5,000.
Additional work with Sauk county Historical Society would benefit the project. Complements existing murals. More community involvement would be good. Recommended partial funding in the amount of $2,000.
Reaches a wide audience. The benefits to the county is substantial. Identifies Sauk County as an arts location. Recommend securing other sources of funding. Recommended full funding - $5,000.
Innovative. Generous inkind donations. Panelists would like to see cash from community and corporate support. Recommended full funding - $5,000.
Great idea, benefiting a lot of people at a reasonable request. Liked the idea of melding seniors and youth. Recommended full funding - $1,500.
