The regular meeting of the Sauk County Arts, Humanities and Historic Preservation Committee was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 1:02 p.m. by Art Carlson.

Members present: Arthur Carlson, Judy Ashford, Tommy Lee Bychinski, Jay Salinas, Rose White, Peter Tollaksen

Members excused: Lola Huber

Others present: Kathy Schauf, Peter Shrake

The agenda was approved on a motion by Tollaksen, second by Ashford, and a unanimous vote of the Committee. The minutes of the prior meeting (with amendments) were approved on a motion by White, second by Ashford, and a unanimous vote of the Committee.

Election of Officers

Motion by Tollaksen, second by Salinas to nominate Art Carlson as Chair. No further nominations were made. Motion by Tollaksen, second by Salinas to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Art Carlson as Chair.
Motion carried.

Motion by Tollaksen, second by Salinas to nominate Judy Ashford as Vice-Chair. No further nominations were made. Motion by Tollaksen, second by Salinas to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Judy Ashford as Vice-Chair.
Motion carried.

Motion by Salinas, second by Tollaksen to nominate Rose White as Secretary. Motion by Ashford, second by White to nominate Peter Tollaksen as Secretary. Tollaksen withdrew himself from consideration as secretary. Motion by Tollaksen, second by Salinas to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Rose White as Secretary.
Motion carried.

Communications

None

Business Items:

Discussion and consideration of 2007 goals and objectives.
Draft goals were discussed. Motion by White, second by Tollaksen to approve the goals and objectives for 2007.
Motion carried.

Updates:

Artist Registry - None.
County Courthouse - The subcommittee reported on current events being planned.
Historic Preservation Month - A photographic contest is anticipated for 2006. Panel meets Wednesday, May 24, 2006.

Mini grant process and documentation. J. Ashford updated the committee on the anticipated plan for mini-grants.

Blue Lake touring group. A. Carlson presented on current updates.

Motion by Tollaksen, second by Ashford to approve vouchers in the amount of $22,249.28. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned on a motion by Ashford, seconded by Bychinski, with a unanimous committee vote.

Next meeting date was set for 1:00 p.m. on June 09, 2006, Room 213 of the West Square Building.
