Arts, Humanities, and Historic Preservation


The regular meeting of the Sauk County Arts, Humanities and Historic Preservation Committee was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 1:30 p.m. by Art Carlson.

Members present: Arthur Carlson, Judy Ashford, Tommy Lee Bychinski, Lola Huber, Peter Tollaksen, Jay Salinas

Members excused: Rose White

Others present: Kathy Schauf, Peter Shrake

The agenda was approved on a motion by Tollaksen, second by Huber, and a unanimous vote of the Committee. The minutes of the prior meeting were approved on a motion by Ashford, second by Bychinski, and a unanimous vote of the Committee.

Communications

Business Items:

Budget parameters were discussed and established. Motion by Tollaksen, second by Ashford to request 2007 budget funds in the amount of $64,120.

Updates:

Artist Registry - None.

County Courthouse - The subcommittee reported on current events being planned. Motion by Ashford, second by Tollaksen to approve additional budget request of $1,300. Motion carried.

Historic Preservation Month - Photographic contest went well.

Mini grant process and documentation. J. Ashford updated the committee on the anticipated plan for mini-grants. Motion by Tollaksen, second by Salinas to approve minigrant process and forms as proposed, and allow for $3,000 in 2006 funds to be utilized for award purposes. Motion carried.

Blue Lake touring group. A. Carlson presented on current updates.

Update on WCA Conference Breakout. A. Carlson, and K. Schauf will work to develop presentation at WCA convention in September. Motion by Ashford, second by Bychinski to pay mileage and per diems for performers from American Players Theatre participating in the WCA Conference. Motion carried.

No vouchers to approve. Meeting adjourned on a motion by Ashford, seconded by Bychinski, with a unanimous committee vote.

Next meeting date was set for 1:00 p.m. on August 08, 2006, at the University of Wisconsin Baraboo / Sauk County.
