The regular meeting of the Sauk County Arts, Humanities and Historic Preservation Committee was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 1:00 p.m. by Art Carlson.
Members present: Arthur Carlson, Judy Ashford, Tommy Lee Bychinski, Jay Salinas, Rose White, Peter Tollaksen, Lola Huber
Members excused: none
Others present: Kathy Schauf, Peter Shrake
The agenda was approved on a motion by White, second by Ashford, and a unanimous vote of the Committee. The minutes of the prior meeting were approved on a motion by Ashford, second by Bychinski, and a unanimous vote of the Committee.

Motion by Ashford, second by White to approve the use of
2006 carryforward funds as seed money for the Sauk Prairie
River Arts Center Fences project.
Motion carried unanimously.

The subcommittee reported on final event preparations for display and cornerstone reinsertion.
The committee reviewed four applications for minigrants, each requesting $500.00. Wormfarm grant (Salinas recused self): Motion by Tollacksen, second by White to award grant funds in the amount of $500. Motion carried. River Arts grant: Motion by Ashford, second by Tollacksen to request completion of grant form (page 2 missing). Motion carried. Longmire grant: Motion by Bychinski, second by Salinas to award grant funds in the amount of $500. Motion carried. Friends of the Library grant: Motion by White, second by Huber to award grant funds in the amount of $500. Motion failed on a four to one vote. Concern expressed that the main aim of the project appeared to be fundraising. Advancing the cause of art was lacking.

Art Carlson and Judy Ashford presented information on the session.
Motion by Tollacksen, second by Ashford to approve vouchers in the amount of $1,109.27 (August), and $238.50 (September). Motion carried. Meeting adjourned on a motion by Bychinski, seconded by Tollaksen, with a unanimous committee vote.
Next meeting date was set for 1:00 p.m. on November 10, 2006.
