DATE: November 3rd, 2006
Members Present: Tommy Lee Bychinski, Virgil Hartje, Don Stevens, Rob Sinklair
Others Present: Tim Stieve, Phil Raab
Update on Fiber Optics: An e-mail from Ellis was passed out showing the status of the Hwy 78 Fiber. At this point it looks like construction will begin the week of November 13th.
Tower Space Lease Agreement with Reedsburg Utilities: Copies
of the Lease agreement were passed around and reviewed.
Move by Sinklair, second by Stevens to approve resolution
to accept agreement.
Carried.
Tour of Tower Sites: Due to other commitments by committee members they were not going to be able to go on the tour of the sites.
Phil Raab gave a presentation using the propagation
software showing the coverage of the individual tower
sites without the simulcast in place and how it will
look with simulcasting. Phil noted that it appears that
a transmitter will be required at the Reedsburg site
which was not part of the original plan, however there
are many members of the outlying Fire Departments that
work in that area and it would be a good solution to
add the transmitter at that location. Phil noted everything
is in place to add a transmitter, just need to purchase
it. Move by Hartje, second by Stevens that we move forward
with the transmitter at Reedsburg, approximate cost will
be $8800.
Carried.
There will be a few weeks of work just getting all the timing determined. Simulcasting can't be completed until the fiber loop is completed.
Hillpoint: Discovered an interference problem in Loganville from Cable TV, Phil working with local contacts to correct this. Ready to turn on will continue testing next week.
Lake Delton: This site is 100% functional, just waiting for fiber loop and Happy Hill Comparator work to be completed.
Hemlock: Nothing new to report.
Happy Hill: Work continues on wiring up comparators so that once fiber loop is completed we can complete the simulcast solution.
Sauk City: Same situation as Lake Delton.
Courthouse: Nothing new to report.
Spring Green: All work pretty well completed should be able to turn this site on in the next week or two.
