Meeting called to order by County EM Director, Corene Sklar in EMBS meeting

Hospital and/or Health Consortium
The hospitals have done a vulnerability assessment to determine their
most pressing issues. St. Clare Hospital is doing a terrorism drill Saturday,
October 28 at the Sauk County Fairgrounds. The Health Consortium (BRAT)
is being disbanded by the end of this year. A functional exercise was recently
done with Reedsburg Hospital on contagious disease.
State Regional Meeting
- The municipal plan template is going to be updated. Emergency
Support Functions (now known as Annexes) are on hold for
2007.
- There is a new program titled HAZ Collect for use in transmitting
critical emergency messages through the National Weather
Service channels (see brochure).
- Weather radios have been distributed to all schools throughout
the country. This is being doine by the Department of Education
and Homeland Security. To see if your local school is listed
in the distribution, go to http://public-alert-radio.nws.noaa.gov.
If your school(s) is not listed, that school can register
themselves on-line.
County Information
- By way of information sharing, a firm by the name of Techno-Graphics
(TGS) has been contracted by Homeland Security and the National
Geospatial Intelligence Agency to verify and validate data.
If you or any agencies are contacted for information by TGS,
they are a credible firm (see enclosed bulletin).
- All those present were walked through how to complete the Storm
Ready information. IF YOU HAVEN'T YET, PLEASE COMPLETE
THE FORM AND SEND IT TO THE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICE.

Tower Update
Basically everything is done with the fiber optics except for Hwy 78.
Merrimac - all work at the site is complete, paging Baraboo & Merrimac.
There was some damage to the Hillpoint fencing. Phil is hoping to be paging
off this site by 3rd week in October (now). Lake Delton site is fully functional,
just waiting for fiber loop and Happy Hill comparator work to be done.
Nothing new to report on Hemlock (LaValle). Happy Hill - continue to work
on moving things from old building to new one, which will take another
month or two. Sauk City site is the same situation as Lake Delton. Nothing
new to report on the Courthouse. Spring Green - construction completed,
still waiting for feed lines and antennas.
Information Shared
- Washington Post article: Is DHS Site Really Ready? Science
intern thinks not.
- A power point presentation was given, which was put together
by the National Weather Service on how weather how the National
Weather Service goes about determining warnings, areas to
be warned, etc. Also noted were changes in how warnings will
happen in 2008.
- In the Homefront security newsletter, an article re Wisconsin
Preparedness Plans in Place.
- Nick mentioned a website for free weather information - http://www.emergencyemail.org.

Training
- Memo went to all city officials and villages re ICS 100 & NIMS
700 classes in December. Only 2 replies to date.
- ICS 300 is available and is an intermediate course which
expands upon information covered in the 100 & 200 courses.
- ICS 400 will take place between now and June 2007.
- ICS-402 course - Incident Command System for Executives/Senior
Officialsto be conducted onNovember 7, 2006 at
the Sheridan Madison Hotel, Madison, WI.This is
NOT a required course, but highly recommended.
