The meeting was called to order by Chair T. Stieve at 1:00 p.m. with a quorum present. Meeting was properly posted. Motion by K. Stieve, 2nd by B. Mullenbeck to adopt agenda.

Members introduced themselves to new people.

SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS:

Educational Subcommittee: Copies of the HazMat activity book were handed around and Peggy Reinecke, author of the book was introduced by Subcommittee Chair Sklar. These will be handed out at Rural Safety Days, the County Fair and Children's Day in Reedsburg. Sklar advised they are still working on the billboards. Muhlenbeck talked about Rural Safety Days.

Hazmat/Inservice Training: T. Stieve noted four sessions were presented on Hazmat Awareness in conjunction with ICS for 131 officers. Sklar presented training on the Emergency Response Guide Books to the Highway Shop in April. Sauk Prairie EMS is going to have a Hazmat Awareness class in June.

Exercise Schedule / Plan Review Subcommittee: A tabletop exercise in Lake Delton is scheduled for May 16th and could involve chemicals. No new plans.

HazMat Team Oversight Review Committee: T. Stieve noted we will be reapproaching the new steering committee on the HazMat team in the future.

Clean Sweep: Discussion followed on the future of clean sweep with the closing of the landfill.

COMMITTEE MEMBER REPORTS

• Nick Flueger reported here will be a PIO training course the 3rd week in June at the Casino.
• S. Bode discussed a grant St Clare Hospital to revamp their decontamination area and communication..
• Muchow discussed transportation watch training, and summer road work
• Nimmow commended Jeff Seering on his reporting of the LEPC items and talked about the Avian Flue Plan.
