The meeting was called to order by Corene Ederer-Sklar at 1:00 p.m. with a quorum present. Meeting was properly posted. Motion by B.Muhlenbeck, 2nd by L. Volz to adopt agenda.

SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS:

Educational Subcommittee: Sklar reported that the Hazardous Materials Activity Books were distributed at Rural Safety Days, June Dairy Days and are on the display table of the Emergency Management office. A "mini" billboard was shown to the Committee for the Hot Zone awareness for residents. The education committee will discuss the telephone number and the recording information and Mapping is working on the GIS side of it.

Hazmat/Inservice Training:

Nothing to report.

Exercise Schedule / Plan Review Subcommittee:

Sklar is updating facility information for the State and the question was posed as to retail stores reporting their batteries or not. D. Nimmow will check with the EPA to find out their position on this and then let Sklar know.

HazMat Team Oversight Review Committee:

Sklar said the County's Executive & Legislative Committee asked about the Hazmat Level B Team and she will re-present it to them after compiling more information.

Clean Sweep:

discussion took place on what other counties are doing and the feasibility of a permanent sweep. B. Muhlenbeck will research this. Discussion then followed on disposal of various types of batteries.
