There are several hundred leftover and it was suggested to distribute these again at the next Rural Safety Days. The billboards pertaining to hot zone information for residents are up and running in the County. In October, 21 calls were placed to the information number. Corene reported that there a few problems with people not being able to access the information on the website, but those calls were routed to our IT department. Annual Legal Notice was submitted to the newspapers.

Sklar said we might have another chance at an award, and that the submission deadline for an entry is Jan. 31, 2007. Motion by K. Stieve, second by T. Wise to submit an application. Carried. Sklar noted it would be turned in before January 31, 2007.

Hazmat/Inservice Training:

Nothing to report.

Exercise Schedule / Plan Review Subcommittee:

Sklar reported she is currently working with the hospitals and Public Health to assist them in meeting their requirements. She and T. Wise mentioned the recent full scale exercise involving St. Clare Hospital, enacting a bomb going off at the fairgrounds during an event, and there was supposedly a dirty bomb involved, so the question was raised as to who can check radiation levels and Sklar mentioned that Joe Lally of Public Health is certified, but he lives in Juneau County and that the State has a resource, Mr. Paul Schmidt.

HazMat Team Oversight Review Committee:

Clean Sweep:

It was announced that John Carroll is retiring. L. Volz mentioned that there was some talk about recycling and talk about who would take Carroll's spot. Discussion followed on what people are doing with their items now. Apparently there was some talk of an every other year Clean Sweep. W. Frank offered to become involved in this. L. Volz said he would talk to Corporation Counsel to see what they have to say about the legalities.

The subject of a Level B Team was brought up and discussed. D. Nimmow commented that we should keep bringing this up to County Board.

COMMITTEE MEMBER REPORTS
