Others Present: Orth, Horkan

Chair Alexander called the meeting to order and certified compliance with the Open Meeting Law.

Motion by Dippel, seconded by Fabisiak to adopt the agenda.
Motion Carried.

Motion by Fordham, seconded by Dippel to approve minutes of the previous meeting. Per Fordham, the following correction needs to be made to the minutes of the previous meeting; Fabisiak should be listed as excused not absent.
Motion Carried.

Communications:

Business Items:

  1. Review and Approval of Monthly Vouchers: Horkan distributed and reviewed monthly voucher report. Motion by Endres, seconded by Bowers to approve the vouchers in the amount of $1,781,254.36. Motion Carried. (See attached monthly voucher report)
  2. 2007 Budget Presentation: Horkan distributed the budget review packets. Orth reviewed the packet highlighting changes and issues. Horkan reviewed the line item budget worksheets. Discussion followed concerning levy increase, and were the County stands as a whole. Orth noted that Long Term Care Redesign will not affect the budget until 2008. Institutional expense was discussed and efforts to keep placements and costs down are being looked at. Budget report to be reviewed by County Administrative Coordinator then Finance Committee. Motion by Stoeckmann, seconded by Dippel to approve the budget as presented.

Department Updates:

Motion by Bowers, seconded by Vertein to adjourn to Closed Session at 2:35 p.m., pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes § 19.85 (1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Performance evaluation of the Director of the Department of Human Services. Roll call vote, all ayes.
Motion Carried.

Reconvene to Open Session at 2:44 p.m.

Motion by Bowers, seconded by Fabisiak to adjourn. Motion Carried.

The next meeting of the Sauk County Human Services Board is scheduled for Monday, September 11, 2006 at 5:00 p.m.
