Management Information Systems Committee

DATE: July 7, 2006

The MIS Committee meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m., Monday, July 31, 2006 by Chairperson Stoeckmann.

Members present: Gaalswyk, Huffaker, Netzinger, Sinklair, and Stoeckmann

Others Present: S. Pate

Motion to adopt agenda by Netzinger, seconded by Gaalswyk. Agreed on by committee.
Motion carried.

Motion to adopt last month's minutes by Huffaker, seconded by Gaalswyk. Agreed on by committee.
Motion carried.

Communications

None.

Dept. Budget Proposals and MIS Dept. Budget

Pate handed out explanation of pc replacement fund. Gaalswyk commented on research he has conducted comparing our MIS Dept. budget to other counties in surrounding area. Pate handed out Dept. Request Comparisons. Reports reflected total expenditures up slightly in 2007 as compared to 2006. Sinklair mentioned that Sauk County is one of the fastest growing Counties in the state and therefore, the County needs to make every effort in continuing the investment in technology. Pate did explain that one priority of MIS for 2007 is to invest in security compliance. At the next meeting, Pate will have final budget numbers to present to committee.

Discussion of Co. Brd. Voting System Software Upgrade

Pate discussed that this needs to be upgraded and will look into software cost.

MIS Dept. Update :

• Kronos software has been installed
• MIS Budget for Depts. - feedback and numbers gathered
• 1st implementation of Meetings and Agendas database started
• Lotus Notes upgrade for HS continues
• Data Center move progressing
• Finish Kronos Site Survey
• Training Rm. Setup to begin soon
• Help call volume up - time for resolution is down
• Short term goals - handout outlining objectives and completion dates

Review of MIS monthly invoices -. Motion to approve vouchers by Netzinger, seconded by Sinklair.. Agreed on by committee. Motion carried.

Next meeting scheduled for: September 6, 2006 at 5 p.m.
