Gurney distributed binders for each Commission member containing basic Badger-related information:
Membership roster with contact data;
The Badger Reuse Plan;
The Memorandum of Understanding and the Intergovernmental Agreement drafted by the Badger Intergovernmental Group;
The draft Bylaws of the Interim Oversight and Management Commission;
A map of likely future transfer parcels within Badger;
Color brochures relating to BAAP and its reuse.
Gurney reported that the Smithsonian Institute’s traveling exhibit “Between the Fences” had been awarded to the Sauk Prairie River Arts Center (Feb. 2008)
Members discussed in detail the need for a comprehensive groundwater study in and around BAAP, which would model groundwater movement as well as better assess the extent and potential for the pollutant plume movement. All Commissioners and Stakeholder representatives were in favor of such a study and asked that a resolution be drafted for individual action by the Interim Oversight and Management Commission representatives.
The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006.
