The Baraboo Range Commission met in a rescheduled regular session at 8:30 AM., May 31, 2006 at the Sauk County West Square Building in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Members present: Ashford, Hartmann, Persche, Statz, Steinhorst, Turnquist and Wenzel. Also present: Dave Tremble, Sauk County Planning and Zoning, Linda Bormann, and Audrey Parker.
Chairperson Ashford brought the meeting to order at 8:30 AM., and asked
members to review the meeting agenda. Motion to adopt the agenda as presented
by Hartmann, second by Statz.
Motion carried.
Ashford asked members to review minutes from the April 27, 2006 meeting.
Motion to adopt the minutes by Wenzel, second by Turnquist.

Tremble reported on discussions with other Baraboo Range partners regarding the use of remaining Stewardship funds.
Tremble presented the final version of the 2007 Baraboo Range Protection Program Annual Budget, which incorporated changes recommended at the April BRC meeting, and also contained budget figures for actual 2005 acquisition costs, estimated 2006 costs, and projected 2007 costs.
Persche moved to approved the final 2007 Departmental Budget, second
by Wenzel.
Motion Carried.
Tremble distributed copies of the restoration plan submitted by letter from Gerd and Ursula Muehllehner. Members reviewed the plan and agreed by consensus to continue monitoring the restoration as described in the written plan.
Tremble distributed copies of a letter dated May 22, 2006 written to B.C. Farr describing easement enforcement actions following inspections of the Farr property. The letter stipulated that the landowner is required to apply for a Special Exception permit through the Sauk county Board of Adjustment in connection with the excavation of slopes within the stream setback distance of 300 feet.
Turnquist moved to convene a closed session, pursuant to s. 19.85 (1)(e): Deliberating or negotiating the purchase of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session.” For the purpose of discussing negotiations with private landowners. Second by Persche. Motion Carried unanimously .
The Commission convened in closed session. Members present for the closed session: Ashford, Hartmann, Persche, Statz, Steinhorst, Turnquist and Wenzel. Also present: Dave Tremble, Sauk County Planning and Zoning.
The Commission returned to open session immediately following the closed session.
Tremble distributed copies of a draft Resolution Approving the Purchase
of Development Rights for the David K. Lundgren and Debra J. Lundgren property
in the Town of Honey Creek, for the appraised fair market value of $70,000.
Motion to approve the resolution by Hartmann, second by Statz.
Motion Carried
unanimously.
The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday June 28, 2006.
Motion to adjourn by Turnquist, second by Hartmann. Motion Carried. The meeting adjourned at 10:05 a.m.
