Baraboo Range Commission Meeting

The Baraboo Range Commission met in a rescheduled regular session at 8:30 AM., July 26, 2006 at the Sauk County West Square Building in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Members present: Ashford, Hartmann, Staz, Steinhorst, and Wenzel. Also present: Dave Tremble, Sauk County Planning and Zoning, Audrey Parker and Linda Borman.

Chairperson Ashford brought the meeting to order at 8:35 AM., and asked members to review the meeting agenda. Motion to adopt the agenda as presented by Statz, second by Steinhorst.
Motion carried.

Ashford asked members to review minutes from the June 28, 2006 meeting. Tremble requested that the minutes be corrected to add Audrey Parker's question during the Public Comment period about the recent activities of the Wisconsin Working Lands Initiative. Motion to adopt the minutes as corrected by Hartmann, second by Wenzel.
Motion Carried.

Staff Report

Tremble reported on the July 19th visit to Sauk County by a group of Chilean foresters, timber company managers and resource agency representatives. He reported the B.C. Farr would be appearing before the Sauk County Board of Adjustment on Thursday to discuss his special exception permit application. Tremble reported to that the Planning Zoning and Land Records Committee had declined to take further action on the Dave Lundgren easement proposal until staff could present evidence that the landowner has acquired legal access to his property.

Unfinished Business

The Dave Lundgren legal access issue was briefly discussed.

New Business

Steinhorst moved to convene a closed session, pursuant to s. 19.85 (1)(e): Deliberating or negotiating the purchase of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session." For the purpose of discussing negotiations with private landowners. Second by Hartmann.
Motion Carried unanimously.

The Commission convened in closed session. Members present for the closed session: Ashford, Hartmann, Statz, Steinhorst and Wenzel. Also present: Dave Tremble, Sauk County Planning and Zoning.

The Commission returned to open session immediately following the closed session.

The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday August 30, 2006.

Motion to adjourn by Hartmann, second by Wenzel.
Motion Carried.

The meeting adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
