Jenny Erickson called meeting to order at 1:03pm

The meeting met the requirements for the open meetings law.

The agenda was adopted (Schauf/Dippel)

The Sauk County strategic planning process, goals and expectations were reviewed

The following is the summary of the brainstorming and organizing portion of the Sauk

County Strategic Planning process pertaining to the following question:

How can we structure our county board, committees and departments to provide effective and efficient government operations?

Strategy: Possible modification of the composition of the county board and standing committees.

1.) Consider restructuring the committees around functional groups Executive and Legislative By April 2006
2.) Evaluate each functional group to see how many committees are needed within the functional area. Executive and Legislative By April 2006

Also consider the following ideas:

The Strategic Planning – Structure Committee listed two possible organizational charts designed to group departments and oversight committees into functional groups. Oversight committees should not operate under more than one functional group. The highlighted committees are currently listed in at least two functional groups.
