Call to order:
The meeting was called to order at 9:30 AM by Chair Wiese
Certification of Open Meeting Notice
Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met.
Approval of Agenda
Motion made by Cassity, second by Zowin to approve the agenda.

Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting
Motion made by Cassity, second by Zowin to approve the minutes of the
last meeting.
Motion approved.
Correspondence
None
Bills and Financial Report
- The 2006 financial report was discussed. Motion by Zowin, second
by Cassity to approve as printed.
Motion approved.
- The January bills for January, 2007 were discussed. Motion by Zowin,
second by Cassity to approve as printed.
Motion approved.
Discussion of endoring 4-H volunteer leader insurance, endorsement to
Sauk County from Jan. 1, 2007 to Jan. 1, 2008.
- The draft of the Resolution for approving 4-H volunteer leader insurance
endorsement for Sauk County was explained by Carl Gruber, Sauk County
EMBS Office. A motion was made by Zowin, second by Cassity to approve
this resolution so that it can be taken to the County Board.
Motion carried.
2008 Budget Form 1
- It was suggested that the UW Extension Staff get more involved in
county functions. Dietmann handed out the Form 1. The Mission
Statement was read. Cassity suggested that "county departments" be added
to the Mission Statement (in some form).
WECEC State Convention in Madison, March 26-28, 2007
- A discussion was held and questions asked about the convention.
Discussion approving appointment of Al Anderson as CNRED representative
on the Ag and Extension Education Advisory Committee
- A discussion was held on this appointment. A motion was made by Lehman,
second by Zowin to approve the appointment of Anderson to
this committee.
Motion carried.
Complete 2007 WACEC Survey
- Some time was allowed for members to fill out this survey.
Agent Presentation by Jenny Erickson, CNRED Agent
- Erickson gave a presentation on her recent activities including Land
Use Issues, The Rural Living Guide developed by Erickson,
Comprehensive Plan and Visioning Process in cooperation with the Planning
and Zoning Office, City of Baraboo Riverfront Revitilization Project
and Boundry Setting with Sauk City, Prairie du Sac and Town of Prairie.
Department Updates
- Jessica Jens reported on the Bluffview Soccer Field Project which
will be ready to go by June 1, Bluffview Gardening Project,
Forestry Service Learning Project Book developed by Jens and Becca
Kates.
- Sue Nagelkerk reported that the Children's Fair held Feb. 18 at
Chula Vista was a huge success. She worked with several other
counties to coordinate this event. She also touched on the 2007 Get Ready,
Get Set, Garden Seminar which will be held in Baraboo at the West Square
Building on Saturday, April 14.
- Paul Dietmann reported on the Dairy Expansion Program (coordinated
with Land Conservation) which was held in Plain at the Library
with approximately 60 registrants. He also reported that
the North American Farmers' Direct Marketing Association Convention in
Calgary, Canada was well worth the trip. He also reported that he will
be presenting at the Organic Farming Conference in Lacrosse to be held
Feb. 23-25.
