Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 9:10 AM by Chair Wiese.
Certification of Open Meeting Notice
Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met.
Approval of Agenda
Motion made by Zowin, second by Cassity to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting
Bob Cassity asked about the item regarding the results of the Needs Assessment being discussed at the December meeting, however, there is no item on the agenda. This item will be discussed with the committee at a later time.
Motion made by Cassity, second by Zowin to approve the minutes of the last meeting. Motion carried.
Correspondence - None
Bills and Financial Report
A written summary was submitted to all members of the committee for approval of the November invoices. Motion by Zowin, second by Cassity to pay the bills in the amount of $5,023.41. Motion carried.
WACEC District 2 Winter Meeting
The WACEC Winter Meeting will be January 18th at the Dane County UW Extension Office in Madison. Lester Wiese and Kathy Zowin expressed an interest in attending with Sue Nagelkerk. Motion by Cassity, second by Zowin to approve two members of the Ag & Extension Education Committee to attend this meeting and that they be reimbursed for their per diem and expenses. Motion carried.
South Central Rural Immigration Summit
The office is planning a South Central Rural Immigration Summit to be held on Friday, February 29, 2008, either at the West Square Building or at the UW Baraboo/Sauk County Campus. Jenny Erickson had attended a Rural Immigration Summit in Trempaleau County and remarked how well attended it was and felt that we needed to have the same information presented in this area of the state. Discussion ensued among the committee regarding immigration. Information about the summit will be going out right after the first of the year.

Agent Report
Jenny Erickson and Jen Stewart reported on their recent trip to Mexico on the Puentes/Bridges Mexico Immersion Program and showed some photos from the trip.
Department Update
Angela Zeihen, our new WNEP Educator, was introduced to the committee.
The Needs Assessment survey results will be presented at the January Ag & Extension Education Committee meeting.
Next Meeting
The next regular meeting of the Ag & Extenson Education Committee will be on Thursday, January 24, 2008, starting at 9:30 AM in the ETN Room on the 3rd floor of the West Square Building. Note the change of time.
