The regular meeting of the Sauk County Arts, Humanities and Historic Preservation Committee was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 1:00 p.m. by Art Carlson.

Members present: Arthur Carlson, Judy Ashford, Rose White, Peter Tollaksen, Lola Huber, Tommy Lee Bychinski

Members excused: Jay Salinas

Others present: Kathy Schauf, Dale Jaedike

The agenda was approved on a motion by Bychinski, second by Tollaksen, and a unanimous vote of the Committee. The minutes of the prior meeting were approved on a motion by Tollaksen, second by Ashford, and a unanimous vote of the Committee.

None.

Communications

In response to Judy Ashford's questions, Dale Jaedike relayed information from Lynne Eich, Director of Dane County Cultural Affairs on the calendar they produce for sale to the public each year.

Names of potential committee members to replace those with expiring terms were previously submitted by Jay Salinas.

Judy Ashford gave a report on the Executive and Legislative Committee reviewing possible changes to the structures of County Committees.

Business Items:

Discussion regarding the Historic Preservation Award Program
Tabled for further discussion to the February 16, 2007 meeting. Peter Shrake will have additional information for discussion.

Review a request to consider the request for the McArthur Mill property to be added to the Sauk County Cultural/Historic Register. More information on the history of the property is desired.

Motion by Tollaksen, second by Ashford, to postpone the request until the additional information requested is supplied by the applicant.

Updates:

Motion by Bychinski, seconded by Tollaksen, to approve vouchers of $500.00.
Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned on a motion by Bychinski, seconded by Tollaksen, with a unanimous committee vote.

Next meeting date was set for 1:00 p.m. on February 16, 2007. Agenda items: Consideration and discussion of sponsorship of a Historic Preservation Award.
