The regular meeting of the Sauk County Arts, Humanities and Historic Preservation Committee was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 1:02 p.m. by Art Carlson.
Members present: Arthur Carlson, Judy Ashford, Rose White, Lola Huber, Tommy Lee Bychinski
Members excused: Jay Salinas, Peter Tollaksen
Others present: Kathy Schauf, Peter Shrake, Dale Jaedike
The agenda was approved on a motion by Bychinski, second by Ashford, and a unanimous vote of the Committee. The minutes of the prior meeting were approved on a motion by Ashford, second by White, and a unanimous vote of the Committee.
None.
Wisconsin Brass Quintet will perform tonight at 7:30 at the River Arts Center, Prairie du Sac.
Tabled for further discussion regarding merging awards to the March 9, 2007 meeting. Peter Shrake will have additional information for discussion.
More information on the history of the property is desired.
Dale Loomis, Linda Bormann, Molly Arbogast, Annie Randall were
considered.
Motion made by White, seconded by Bychinski to forward
Dale Loomis and Molly Arbogast to the chair for committee appointment.
Motion Carried.
Resolutions commending Lola Huber and Jay Salinas for their time on the Committee were considered.
Motion made Bychinski, seconded by White to approve the resolutions, and refer to the County Board. Approved by unanimous vote.
Discussion of Arts Day at the Capital, March 7, 2007, lobbying and advocacy.
Motion made by Bychinski, seconded by White for Art Carlson
to attend.
Motion Carried.
Motion made by Ashford, seconded by Huber to send Kyle Coolidge
a letter of commendation for his piano playing, signed
by the committee.
Motion Carried.
Motion was made by Bychiniski, seconded by White to partner
with the Sauk County Historical Society for the archival
storage of the contents of the historic cornerstone.
Motion Carried.
Artist Registry - None.
Mini grant requests. - None.
Fifteen submissions received, packages have been sent to panelists. Agendas for both meetings were distributed to the committee.
Smithsonian Fences Project - Judy Ashford and Rose White had nothing new to report.
There were no vouchers requiring approval.
Meeting adjourned on a motion by Bychinski, seconded by Tollaksen, with a unanimous committee vote.
Next meeting date was set for 1:00 p.m. on March 9, 2007. Agenda items:
Consideration and discussion of sponsorship of a Historic Preservation
Award.
