SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS:

Public Education:

Hazmat/Inservice Training:

There were 4 sessions done with Law Enforcement.

Exercise Schedule / Plan Review Subcommittee:

Jeff would like to do an EOC activation exercise. Jeff said there is now a training calendar on the website. All plans related to EPCRA are reviewed for the remainder of the year. Don mentioned the Plan Review and continuous improvements. He suggested someone taking a look at all the plans and see if there is something that might be missing, i.e., having a "fresh"view. Rose White offered to look at these. The number of facilities was talked about.

HAZMAT Team:

Jeff mentioned that nothing will happen this year unless there will be a grant available and our budget does not allow it. Don suggested getting the equipment at no or little cost through government surplus. Jeff said he periodically checks on this. Rose suggested bringing up the subject again before the Board and Jeff will talk to Tim on this. Larry said this should go before E & L first.

Clean Sweep:

Warren said Joe Van Berkel of Land Conservation has spoken to a few contractors and a probable date this year could be September or October. He will find out more and report back to Jeff. Jeff suggested using the County VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) for the clean sweep.

COMMITTEE MEMBER REPORTS

Rose mentioned that she, as well as other Supervisors have been concerned about a clean sweep. She has also spoken to Marty Krueger about the Landfill turbine processes. Larry said that the turbine engine is now going well and that leftover money from this could possibly be used towards the clean sweep. Darlene and Ed echoed comments about having a clean sweep.
