Corporation Counsel Liebman distributed a resolution and reviewed same with Committee members, entitled, "Declaring Sauk County's Support of a Moratorium on Establishing Off Reservation Casino Gambling in Beloit, Wisconsin"; Liebman noted a slight change in the last sentence of the "Now Therefore Be It Resolved" paragraph of the resolution and indicated it does not alter the original intent of the resolution. Representatives from the Ho-Chunk nation were agreeable to the manner in which the resolution was drafted and expressed their appreciation to the County for considering this resolution. Discussion followed with Supervisor Fordham pointing out the resolution calls for adoption of a moriatorium on the creation of new off reservation gambling casinos until Federal regulations are adopted and does not indicate a particular County position on the matter.
