Continuum of Care Planning Committee and Commission on Aging



The regular meeting of the Sauk County Continuum of Care Planning Committee and Commission on Aging was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 6:00 p.m. by Joan Fordham.

Members present: Paul Endres, Lowell Haugen, Joan Fordham, Joan Wheeler, Darrell McClusky, Bob Cassity, Betty Durst, Phyllis Johnson, Rose White, Scott Alexander, Al Dippel

Members excused: Ralph Soeldner, Darwin Nelson, Judy Stoeckmann, Linda Borleske
Others present: Kathy Schauf, Trish Vandre, Bill Orth Alene Kleczek and Dale Jaedike

The agenda was approved on a motion by Alexander, second by Cassity, and a unanimous vote of the members of the Committee.

The minutes of the August 28, 2007 meeting were approved on a motion by White, second by Durst, and a unanimous vote of the members of the Committee.

A motion was made by Endres, second by Wheeler to appoint Fordham to chair the joint committee. Approved by a unanimous vote of the committee.

Business Items:

Discussion of the Governance model, lead by Trish Vandre.

A motion was made by Endres, second by Cassity to recommend to the Executive and Legislative Committee a proposed governance model for the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) department. In this model the ADRC governing body is composed of a five member county Board of Supervisors' standing committee to provide policy making departmental oversight, and serve as the statutory Commission on Aging (COA). The ADRC shall be advised by an advisory committee, appointed by the County Board, consistent with State Statute § 46.82(4)(b)(1).

Motion approved unanimously by COCPC; 6-1 by COA.

Commission on Aging Business Items:

A motion was made by Alexander, second by Durst to approve the submission of the New Freedom and STRAP grant applications. Motion approved.

Meeting adjourned on a motion by Endres, seconded by Cassity, with a unanimous committee vote.
