Management Information Systems Committee

The MIS Committee meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2007 by Chairperson Stoeckmann.

Members present: Gaalswyk, Huffaker, Sinklair, Stoeckmann, and Netzinger.


Others Present: Pate, Hafemann, Schauf, Atty Schernecker

Motion to adopt agenda by Netzinger, seconded by Gaalswyk r. Agreed on by committee. Motion carried.

Motion to adopt minutes by Netzinger, seconded by Gaalswyk. Agreed on by committee. Motion carried.

Communications - None.

Update on Critical Information Handling - No new information to report

Update on Web Posting Issues - Discussion regarding the posting of unapproved minutes to the unapproved minutes mailbox. Stoeckmann will bring up to Human Services, Pate will follow up with Dept Heads and remind them to use the unapproved minutes mailbox.

Update on Fiber Optic - Working with Reedsburg Utility - should have internet through them by the end of December

Discussion of Visions system functionality: Stoekmann explained to the committee that she believed it would be advantageous to better understand the capabilities and utilitzation of the system. Pate provided some background on the procurement and implementaion of the system. Hafemann explained how the system is currently used and what functions are utilized. Discussion followed.

Computer Donation to Baraboo Schools - Pate handed out a copy of the request - Motion to approve donation by Netzinger, seconded by Huffaker. Agreed on by committee. Motion carried.

Motion to go into closed session pursuant to Wisc. Stats. 19.85 (1) (c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Performance evaluation of MIS Coordinator by Gaalswyk, seconded by Sinklair, unanimous by roll call vote.

Discussion of Security Assessment . Pate working with two vendors and has a quote from one, will wait for the second to provide a quote before making a selection he will update committee next meeting. Projected project cost is $7,000 - $10,000. This has been budgeted for.

Discussion of email archive system options: Pate explained that he has looked into two possible solutions, one from Intradyne, the other from IBM. The better fit for Sauk County appears to be the IBM solution. Will bring back estmates for total cost next month.

Update on VK recommendations implementation: - Nothing new to report
