Public Health Board

Also Present: Schauf, Wolfe, Konkel, Lally, Melby

Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. By White and compliance with the open meeting law was noted.

Moved by Haugen, seconded by Clement to adopt the agenda,
motion carried.

Moved by Haugen, seconded by Elsen to adopt the minutes of the previous meeting.
Motion carried.

COMMUNICATIONS:

Update regarding pandemic preparedness.

Jeff Melby from the Tobacco Free Coalition presented information on the resolution regarding tobacco reduction. Motion by Elsen, second by Haugen to support a resolution reducing the burden of tobacco in Wisconsin.
Motion carried.

Joe Lally appeared to discuss the Clean Sweep, and Public Health's involvement. Preparing a long term collection plan that would be year round.

DEPARTMENTAL UPDATES:

  1. Moved by Clement, seconded by Haugen, to add the monthly reports to the minutes of the meeting.
    Motion carried.
  2. Moved by Clement, seconded by Delong, to approve paying the May vouchers totaling $ 23,124.87.
    Motion carried.
  3. Haugen: WALHDAB state committee meeting - no new comments, next meeting on the 20th.

BUSINESS ITEMS:

Next Board of Health meeting is scheduled for 06/13/07
Motion by Haugen, second by Clement, to turn down potential appointment for Public Health Director.
Motion carried.

Motion by Haugen, second by Clement, to nominate and close nominations for Elsen, to serve as Secretary for Board of Health.
Motion carried.

Moved by Elsen, seconded by Haugen, to approve Form 1.
Motion carried.
