Baraboo Range Planning Commission

The Baraboo Range Commission met in a rescheduled regular session, October 30, 2007 at the Sauk County West Square Building in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Members present: Ashford, Beard, Hartmann, Persche, Statz, Steinhorst, Turnquist and Wenzel. Also present: Dave Tremble, Sauk County Planning and Zoning, and Linda Borman.

Chairperson Ashford brought the meeting to order at 8:30 AM., and asked members to review the meeting agenda. Motion to adopt the agenda by Hartmann, second by Beard. Motion carried.

Ashford asked members to review minutes from the September 26, 2007 meeting. Tremble noted a misspelling of Mark Steward's name. Motion to adopt the minutes, as corrected, by Turnquist, second by Statz. Motion Carried.

Communications
Tremble reported on an email communication from Vickie Elkin, Legislative Liaison for the Gathering Waters Land Trust, regarding legislative budget challenges to the Wisconsin Stewardship Fund.

Public Comment
None

Staff Report
Tremble reported that he would be attending, along with Brian Simmert and Mark Steward, the 2007 Midwest Regional APA Planning Conference in Dubuque, Iowa from October 31 - November 2.

Tremble reported on an event scheduled November 1, to honor Ken and Esther Lange for adopting a section of the East Bluff at Devil's Lake State Park. Tremble asked that someone from the Baraboo Range Commission attend that ceremony.

Unfinished Business
Tremble reported that he had requested a legal opinion from Todd Liebman, the Sauk County Corporation Counsel, regarding the right of Patricia Hackett to relocated her existing residence on BRPP easement protected land.

New Business
Beard moved to convene a closed session, pursuant to s. 19.85 (1)(e): "Deliberating or negotiating the purchase of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session." For the purpose of discussing negotiations with private landowners. Second by Turnquist. Motion Carried unanimously.

The Commission convened in closed session. Members present for the closed session: Ashford, Beard, Hartmann, Persche, Statz, Steinhorst, Turnquist and Wenzel. Also present:
Dave Tremble, Sauk County Planning and Zoning.

The Commission returned to open session immediately following the closed session.

The next subsequent meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday December 12, 2007.

Motion to adjourn by Turnquist, second by Statz. Motion Carried. The meeting adjourned at about 10:00 a.m.
