Chairman Wiese called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Compliance with open meetings law was noted.

Motion by Ashford, seconded by Gaalswyck to adopt the agenda as presented.
Motion carried, 3-0.

Motion by Gaalswyck, seconded by Ashford to approve the minutes of the June 12, 2007 Committee meeting.
Motion carried, 3-0.

Mr. Brian Simmert, Staff Planner, stated the department has been working with the Town of Spring Green for months on a proposal to rezone all subdivisions out of agriculture zoning. Steve Sorenson and Brian Simmert will be meeting with the town tonight. These subdivisions predated ordinance requirements. This may be reviewed by the Committee at their August meeting.

Mr. Lehman joined the Committee.

Discussion followed regarding the selection of a new department director. The Committee also briefly discussed the proposed fee for the maintenance program. Documentation was needed on program costs.

Pumping systems and land spreading were discussed.

The Committee then reviewed the vouchers. Motion by Ashford, seconded by Gaalswyck to approve the vouchers in the amount of $74,688.89.
Motion carried, 4-0.

Public Hearing

Petition # 6-2007. A petition for approval of a rezone from an Exclusive Agricultural to an Agricultural Zoning District for the purpose of extending an existing quarry operation on approximately 78.76 acres by James Roecker, landowner c/o Ray Zobel & Sons, Inc. The parcels of land affected by the rezone are located in Section 24, T12N, R3E in the Town of Ironton, Sauk County, Wisconsin.

Mr. Brian Simmert, Staff Planner, gave a brief history and background on the request. He also gave the recommendation of approval of the rezone request. Agricultural zoning versus Commercial zoning was discussed. Farmland preservation tax credit was also discussed.

Mr. Edward Zobel appeared in favor. He explained that expansion would be to crop lands and partially wooded areas to the west of the existing site. The wooded area would be left as a natural screen.

Ms. Diane Fish registered in favor.

Seeing no one else wished to speak, the public portion of the hearing was closed. Length of Board of Adjustment approval was discussed. Motion by Gaalswyck, seconded by Ashford to approve the request.
Motion carried, 4-0.

Motion by Ashford, seconded by Gaalswyck to adjourn at 9:45 A.M.
