The meeting was called to order at 9:30 AM by Chair Wiese.
Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met.
Motion made by Borleske, second by Cassity to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Motion made by Borleske, second by Cassity to approve the minutes of the last meeting. Motion carried.
A letter from Kathy Schauf was discussed regarding the re-structure of committees.
A written summary was submitted to all members of the committee for approval of the March invoices. Motion by Borleske, second by Cassity to pay the bills. Motion carried.
Jens gave a report on the new ways research shows experiences of 4-H members and how they relate to Sauk County. She also handed out a graph to show the percentages relating to Sauk County 4-H members.
Nagelkerk reported on the Block Party which was held in Wisconsin Dells (co-partnering with the Dells Alliance for Young Children) with parents and children, teaching them how building blocks relate to science, math and many other subjects. She also handed out her Impact Statements for 2007 and gave a short report on the Immigration Summit and Heart of the Farm events.

A discussion was held about the application for funding to the Greater Sauk County Foundation for $600.00 for funding for Family Camp. Motion made by Borleske and second by Wiese to send in the application to the Greater Sauk County Foundation for the funding request for Family Camp. Motion carried.
The Mission Statement and Vision Statement for Sauk County UW Extension 2008 Budget was discussed and is to be submitted by April 14th with the following:
Mission Statement: To provide citizens with the knowledge, resources and skills they need to make positive changes in their families, businesses and communities through the most current approaches in educational programming.
Vision Statement: To serve as a conduit between the University of Wisconsin System and an increasingly diverse population of county residents. We will use creative ways of marketing our services to county residents and will gather feedback to most effectively tailor our educational programs to residents' needs. We will leverage county government's investment in our department by training volunteers, building leadership capacity, seeking grant funding for specific projects, and forming strategic partnerships with other public and private entities that share our mission, vision, and goals.
A discussion was held on the proposed staff retreat for Friday, June 27. This retreat will include responsibity-based activities (team building). Goals and initiatives for the retreat was also discussed. The Summer WACEC meeting will be held in Sauk County at the Aldo Leopold Foundation.
The next regular meeting of the Ag & Extenson Education Committee will be on Wednesday, April 23 starting at 9:00 AM in the ETN Room on the 3rd floor of the West Square Building.
