The regular meeting of the Sauk County Arts, Humanities and Historic Preservation Committee was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 1:15 p.m. by Art Carlson.
Members present: Arthur Carlson, Dale Loomis, Molly Arbogast, Judy Ashford, Rose White, Tommy Lee Bychinski
Members excused: Peter Tollaksen
Others present: Orris Smith, Pat Yanke, Donna Stehling, Dale Jaedike
The agenda was approved on a motion by Bychinski, second by White, and a unanimous vote of the Committee.
The minutes of the prior meeting were approved on a motion by Ashford, second by Loomis, and a unanimous vote of the Committee.
Pat Yanke of the River Arts center thanked the Committee for their support of the Between the Fences project and presented them with a "Sauk Prairie Meander" print by artist John Miller. The print will be framed and hung in the first floor hallway of the West Square Building.
Thank you from Scott Bruer, Band Conductor at the Reedsburg Area High School for the mini-grant awarded to the Sauk County Honors Project.
Discussion of stained glass inserts for chapel windows and artwork at the new Health Care Center
Motion made by Ashford, second by Loomis to give an honorarium of $100 to the organization of Sue Nagelkerk's choice. Approved.
Motion made by Bychinski, second by Ashford to have the print matted and/or framed at a cost not to exceed $300. Approved.
Artist Registry - None.
Mini grant requests. - UW Baraboo/Sauk County request for $500 to help with the cost of acquiring 1920s period clothing for a play which is being written. Motion made by Ashford, second by White to approve the request for $500. Approved.
Dale Jaedike will get additional information from Kerry Beghin on "carry forward" requests for the next meeting.
Motion made by Bychinski, second by Loomis approving vouchers of $1427.00, with a unanimous committee vote.
Meeting adjourned on a motion by White second by Arbogast, with a unanimous committee vote.
Next meeting date was set for 1:00 p.m. on February 8, 2008, in Room 213, West Square Building.
