Chairperson Krueger called the meeting to order at 8:00 A.M. and noted compliance with the Open Meeting Law.
Motion by Endres, seconded by Fordham to approve the agenda for today's meeting, as mailed. Motion carried.
B. Mielke, County Clerk, noted past practice has been not to approve minutes of previous meetings at special meetings.
None
Chair Krueger noted receipt of the following: Letter from Wisconsin Emergency Management regarding pre-application for the Section 404-Hazard Mitigation Grant Program; letter from the Department of Workforce Development concerning Chairman Krueger's appointment to the SC/SW WIRED Initiative Leadership Caucus; and copy resolutions from Juneau and Oconto Counties regarding support of a change in the Register of Deeds recording fee from a "per page" to a "flat fee". Concerning Chair Krueger's appointment, Supervisor Fordham stated she felt at some time in the future, consideration should be given to increasing the compensation of the County Board Chair, due to the complexity and number of duties involved.
Motion by Endres, seconded by Fordham to go into closed session pursuant to Wisc. Stats. 19.85(1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the (governmental) body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility: Performance evaluation of the Administrative Coordinator; and allow Kathy Schauf to return to the closed session when summoned. Roll call vote was taken on the motion with the following results: AYE: (4) Krueger, Fordham, Stevens, and Endres. NAY: (0), ABSENT: (1) Wenzel. Motion carried and the Committee went into closed session at 8:15 A.M.
At 10:30 A.M. the Committee returned to open session followed with a motion by Stevens, seconded by Fordham to adjourn and postpone consideration of any remaining agenda items until the August 11, 2008 regular meeting. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 10:30 A.M.
