Members Present: Wedekind, Mielke, Geimer, Huffaker, and Haugen.
Members Absent: Giese and Kivioja.
Others Present: Davis, Janke, and news media representative.
Chairperson Wedekind called the meeting to order at 9:00 A.M. and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was verified.
Motion by Geimer, seconded by Haugen to approve the agenda for today's meeting, as mailed. Motion carried.
Motion by Haugen, seconded by Geimer to approve the minutes from the August 21, 2008 meeting, as mailed. Motion carried.

1. Certified copy of resolution adopted on September 16, 2008 by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors commemorating the 40th anniversary of the UW Baraboo/Sauk County Campus.
2. Letter from Precision Controls, Viola, WI regarding the Lange Center AHU-2 relief damper control upgrade. Commission members felt it would be appropriate to await contacting Alliant Energy until additional information is obtained from Precision Controls.
In the absence of C. Giese, City Clerk, Chair Wedekind distributed a revenue/expense report for the period of 1/1/08 to 9/30/08. The report indicated an unencumbered balance of $70,762.40. Motion by Huffaker, seconded by Geimer to accept the report, as presented. Motion carried.
In the absence of R. Griffith, C. Davis presented the monthly report and list of bills. Motion by Geimer, seconded by Janke to approve the report and bills in the amount of $23,262.19. Chair Wedekind noted the bill for Stalker Flooring (gym & related flooring) will be paid out of the capital fund. A brief discussion on the estimated year-end budget balance ensued. Motion carried.
C. Davis reported the recent work done on the sidewalk and parking lot has helped the parking situation somewhat; additional spaces for car pooling, bicycle and motorcycle parking have been created. Students are being encouraged to check out the State of Wisconsin "Ride-Share" program as well.
In the absence of Dean Pleger, C. Davis reported on the following:
* Enrollment target has been met.
* Two new faculty positions have been approved.
* Progress is being made on the position of Foundation Director; possibly part-time.
* The Oxford Program will no longer be supported; interest seems to be primarily in
the vocational field.
* The 40th anniversary celebration of the UW Baraboo/Sauk County Campus will
be held on October 19, 2008 with events taking place from 11:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.
* Implementation of the Ice Age Trail will take place on the weekend of October 16 - 19, 2008.
C. Davis reported, highlighting:
* A date of Friday, October 24, 2008 was suggested for holding a joint meeting with the Campus Commission.
Motion by Wedekind, seconded by Mielke to schedule the next, regular Campus Commission meeting for Friday, October 24, 2008 at 9:00 A.M. in the Rodems Room with the intent of meeting jointly with the Living and Learning Center Committee. Motion carried.
Motion by Janke, seconded by Wedekind to adjourn. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 9:25 A.M.
