SAUK COUNTY UW EXTENSION
Community Nominaton of Drainage Board
A discussion was held on the next steps. Judges will make decision on the three suggested names. After some discussion, it was decided that Alene Kleczak will write a response to the court urging them to create a more balanced board.
Monthly Report/Review and Approval of Vouchers (UW Extension)
A motion was made by Tollaksen, second by Stehling to approve the UW Extension vouchers for the month of February. Motion carried.
UW Extension - Department Update
Michael Wickus
- creating 4-H Afterschool program
- Michael started Sept. 1 at NO cost to county
- Americorp (in 2010 we will have another)

- there are 3 Afterschool Clubs (East School, South School, GLW School & North Freedom)
- 45 new members
- adults (12 Key Club members, 2 student council members and 3 UW-Baraboo students)
- pending involvements are with Bluffview and Merrimac Charter School

- close to limit, 150 households every year

A motion was made by Stehling, second by Wiese to approve $500 by a 3 to 1 vote.
This grant will be used for portfolios and teacher-in-charge. Motion carried.

Sauk County Historical Society - Celebration in honor of Belle Case LaFollette

Landmark Registry Application
Supervisor Wiese presented the proposal to the Committee, honoring Klondike trucks made in Loganville. Motion by Stehling, second by Tollakson, to approve. Motion carried. A plaque will be presented at a ceremony in August, to be displayed on the original site on South Walnut Street.
Discuss and consider a planning session for establishing arts and culture programming - use of arts and culture budget and how to proceed with the cultural resources assessment.
The plan needed to use/not lose $10,000 budget. There will be a special arts committee meeting on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 1 PM.
Earth Day Project
Supervisor Stehling and Orris Smith reported.
- Cultural Assets displays collected on an ongoing basis for a variety of events.

Photo Contest
Orris Smith reported that the form for this contest will be posted on the website @ saukcountyhistory.org.
4-H Performance Arts Festival
A survey to register interest has been issued. The judge or building rental are the only expenses. No action needed.
