Public Health Board

The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. and certification of the open meeting law was noted.

Moved by Haugen and seconded by Clement to adopt the agenda with the correction to minute's date of 2/11/09. Motion carried

Motion to approve minutes of the February 11, 2009, by Clement and seconded by Kriegl. Motion carried.

Communications : Bodendein distributed NALBOH, News Brief.

Information on WEB site to register for the WPHA/WALHDAB annual convention May 5-7, 2009

Public Comment : None

Business Items for Discussion and/or Action:

  1. Year end environmental health report provided by Lally
  2. Presentation of fiscal impact of Agent status by Lally and Bodendein. The board requested further information on statistics related to food born outbreaks and comparison of consortia vs. state inspection programs.
  3. Discussion of Public Health process since October 2008 presented by Stoeckmann. Update on current culture of the health department and future plans for the Public Health department presented by Bodendein and Warwick.
  4. Discussion of year end report and individual program presentations in the upcoming months.
  5. Discussion regarding the process for the Sauk County needs assessment. Consensus of the group to hold community meetings through out Sauk County .
  6. Presented Strategic Issues Development to the -2010 Form 1 to have board review and identification of gaps and barriers in public services.

Department updates:

•  Financial and monthly reports reviewed

•  Motion by Delong and seconded by clement to approve the February 2009 invoices for $28,648.58. Motion carried.

•  WPHA/WALHDOB Legislative Updates presented by Haugen.
