SAUK COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
DRAFT MINUTES
Aging & Disability Resource Center Advisory Committee
Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.
Basement Conference Room B24, West Square Building, 505 Broadway, Baraboo, WI 53913
Committee Members Present: Moore, Hovde, Demers, Klepper
Committee Members Absent: Ellington, Brown
Others Present: Blodgett, Goodman, Kitzinger, Diane Heiser - Service Coordinator Village Square
At 9:17 a.m., a review of the current committee members was performed and it was established quorum requirements were not met. Multiple members are still listed but have resigned and have not been replaced. (As a result, they are still part of count to establish a quorum.). Those present discussed possible replacements to be contacted to see if they would be interested in serving on the committee. Blodgett updated those in attendance on the Nutrition anticipated meals served and status of the search for the Sauk City Dining Center Manager as these items didn’t require action by the board (see updates below). At 9:35 a.m. the decision was made to call this meeting due to a lack of quorum.
Aging Program Services Updates:
a) Nutrition:
1) Anticipated meals served: Blodgett reported home-delivered meals are going great. OAA puts more funding money into congregate meals, but she is able to move up to 25% of the funding from congregate meals to home-delivered meals. We are still seeing very small increases in congregate diners. GWAAR has suggested having meals served at local restaurants. There would be a separate menu with 4 selections, all nutritionally analyzed. Dane County has implemented this has priced the meals at $5/meal to include a tip to the server. Since its implementation, contributions have gone up significantly (approximately $1/meal). Other places like Baron County have offered a salad bar option at a restaurant 2 times per month and have had 85 people come in for those meals. These options will be explored more at the next meeting. GWAAR has instructed us to move the Reedsburg Dining Center. Craig Braunschweig and Susan Blodgett will be meeting with a Pastor at a church in Reedsburg as a possible option. We could look at a restaurant in Reedsburg, but it will need a kitchen large enough to package the home-delivered meals as well as serve the congregate meals.
2) Seeking Sauk City Dining Center Manager: We are struggling to find a manager for this location. Jen Kamrowski was the previous manager but was hired to fill the Nutrition Coordinator position creating this vacancy. One woman was hired, but needed to resign. Diane Heiser requested a job description to post at her facility.
Next Meeting Date and Time:
Next meeting date and time: Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. West Square Building, Basement Conference Room B24
