PLEASE NOTE:

****The first installment payment for the 2024 real estate tax bill is due by January 31st.  Please mail payments to your local municipality.  The mailing address is on the first & last paystub at the bottom of your tax bill.  If mailing payments the envelope must be post marked by January 31st to make sure it is timely.  Please don't wait until the last minute to pay your taxes. 

 

SAUK COUNTY DOES NOT ACCEPT POST-DATED CHECKS.  Post-dated checks will be returned if noticed, otherwise it will be processed the day it is received as we do not hold any checks.

You can only pay delinquent taxes (anytime) or second installment taxes (after February 15th) on Sauk County's website.  If paying current taxes between December & January 31st, whether it is the first installment or a full tax payment you will need to contact your local municipality to see if they accept on-line payments.

If you are mailing your real estate tax payment, please do not wait until the last minute and make sure your envelope is postmarked by July 31, 2025.

Delinquent Payments Accrue Interest

All delinquent balances will accrue 1.5% interest & penalty on the 1st of each month until paid in full.  Please visit the Pay the Treasurer's Office page for information regarding payment options.

 

WISCONSIN HELP FOR HOMEOWNERS

Wisconsin Help for Homeowners (WHH) is a new statewide program that can help with overdue bills like mortgage payments, property taxes, and utilities. The program is available to Wisconsin homeowners with overdue housing-related bills, both with and without a mortgage, who meet income and other eligibility requirements, and have experienced a qualified economic hardship since January 21, 2020.
