Office Hours:

  • WIC staff and services are available by phone (608-355-4320 or text 608-855-9100) & in person at our Baraboo clinic site.
  • Hours available:  Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 3:30 pm. Click here for extended hour times. 
  • Select WIC appointments will be completed by phone instead of coming into the WIC clinic. We will call you at your scheduled phone appointment time.​ 
  • Select appointments will need to be completed in person. For questions, contact the WIC office.     

 

 

WIC program

The WIC program helps keep your family healthy and strong.

 In order to be eligible for the WIC program you must be income eligible and fit into one of the categories listed below:

  • Pregnant 
  • Breastfeeding 
  •  Had a baby in the last 6 months
  •  Infant (under 1 year of age)
  • Child under age 5

You may fill out the application online or download the application in English or Español.

 

                                                          How WIC Works:

The WIC staff cares about you and your children. They will provide: 

  • Breastfeeding support, breastfeeding counseling, and a breast pump if needed.
  • Nutrition counseling for you and your family's individual health needs.
  • A WIC Food Card to buy specific foods that helps keep you and your family strong and healthy such as:
    • Milk, Cheese, Yogurt, Eggs, Cereal, Whole Grains, Tofu
    • Peanut Butter, Dried or Canned beans and peas
    • 100% juice and Fresh, Canned and Frozen Fruits & Vegetables
    • Baby foods and infant formula
  • Height and weight checkups
  • Lead and iron testing for your child
  • Referrals to doctors, dental providers, and public health nurses for immunization and prenatal care along with many other programs to benefit your family. 

WIC helps you buy the foods you and your children need to stay healthy. The WIC foods in your monthly food package are specifically chosen to promote good health, growth, and development. You will be given an eWIC card to buy the WIC approved foods which can be found in the  WIC shopping Guide (English or Spanish).

Fit Families Supplemental Nutrition Education Program (SNAP-Ed)

                                  

The SNAP-Ed program, Fit Families, is a successful behavior change program offered by Sauk County WIC. SNAP-Ed provides nutrition education for families eligible for or participating in FoodShare.
