1.  Call to Order and Certify Compliance with Open Meeting Law.

2.  Adopt Agenda.

*3.  Public records request by the Baraboo News Republic.

4.  Discussion and direction on revisions to Sauk Co. Code ch. 35 as well as review of the position description for the Administrative Coordinator.

5.  Discussion and direction on the process for filling the vacancy in the Administrative Coordinator position.

6.  Adjourn.

Executive & Legislative Committee

Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 2:30 p.m.

Sauk County West Square Building, Rm 213, 505 Broadway, Baraboo WI

 

Members Present:  Krueger, Fordham, Polivka and Hambrecht

Members Absent:  Czuprynko  (was able to conference in by phone)

County Personnel:  Todd Liebman, Corporation Counsel; Michelle Posewitz, Personnel Director and Rebecca C. Evert, Sauk County Clerk

County Personnel Absent:

Chair Krueger called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was verified.   

 

MOTION (Hambrecht/Polivka) to adopt the amended agenda allowing public comment to occur as it was omitted on the agenda in error.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Public records request by the Baraboo News Republic:

Liebman handed out the open records request that the county has received from the Baraboo News Republic (handout on file).   Liebman announced that he will be seeking outside legal counsel to address this request as the request directly involves him. 

 

Public Comment:

1.  Daniel Holzman, re:  press information.

2.  Sharon Terry, re:  Administrative Coordinator buyouts.

3.  Sylvia Kriegl, re:  fight for open records.

4.  Bill Waser, re:  open records.

 

Discussion and direction on revisions to Sauk Co. Code Ch. 35 as well as review of the position description for the Administrative Coordinator:

Liebman handed out a draft of revisions to Sauk Co. Code Ch. 35 as a guide for the committee on any changes they wish to see made to Chapter 35 (handout on file).  Posewitz handed out the current job description of the Administrative Coordinator (handout on file).   Discussion took place among the committee and other board members. 

 

At 4:00 p.m. the committee took a break for 10 minutes to attend the swearing in of the Sauk County Constitutional Officers. 

 

Discussion and direction on the process for filling the vacancy in the Administrative Coordinator position: 

MOTION (Hambrecht/Fordham) to put a closed session on the agenda for the January 3, 2017 Executive & Legislative committee to review potential candidates from the list of finalists from the last recruitment.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

MOTION (Polivka/Hambrecht) to adjourn.  Motion carried unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
