This meeting is open to the public. However, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, members of the public may wish to watch the meeting on streaming video which can be found on the County’s webpage at https://www.co.sauk.wi.us/meetings. No one should attend the meeting if they are experiencing COVID- or flu-like symptoms, have a fever, sore throat or recently experienced a loss of taste or smell. Masks are encouraged but not required. Social distancing of 6 feet is required.

The meeting was called to order by Krueger at 9:30 AM. Certification of open meeting compliance was given. Motion by Flint, second by Eberl to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.

The agencies presented their requests to the committee in the following order:

Hazard made comments about the outside agency applications and challenges for the budget. Bretl commented departmental requests are greater than levy limits by approximately $4 million. Bretl commented his recommendation to the Committee for outside agency allocations will be less than the dollars requested. The Committee discussed agency reliance and the applicants’ wide range of services/projects. Discussed metrics and how to define where and how dollars spent align with County mission. Discussed contracting with agencies for services. Discussed establishing a grant program with new administrator. Discussed use of fund balance.

September 23 – Joint Finance Personnel Committee
September 28-29 – Budget meetings with departments
October 5 – Regular meeting (may include final budget recommendation to County Board)
November 5 – Regular meeting (includes review of amendments)
Motion by Dorner, second by Eberl to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
