Minutes of Meeting

Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee

December 13, 2016

            The regular meeting of the Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee was held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 04:52 pm, in the Community Room, 1300 Lange Court, Baraboo, Wisconsin.

The meeting was properly posted and all interested parties were notified.

Call to Order and Certification of Open Meeting Law: The meeting was called to order and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was certified by William Wenzel at 04:52 pm.

Agenda:  Motion by Czuprynko seconded by Kriegl adopt the agenda. Motion carried.

Approve minutes of Previous Meeting(s): Motion by Czuprynko to approve minutes from November 8 meeting seconded by Kriegl. Motion Carried.

Communications:

-Thank you card from Paulette Greenwood after a death investigation of her brother.

-Thank you from Outdoor Adventures for our help and Support of their Benefit ride.

-Email thanking Linda Lee for her help regarding getting a report.

-Thank you card from Harvey Family with $50.00 donation to Defib for the participation in the funeral services of Fred Bayer.

Sauk County Animal Shelter operations update:

Animal Shelter took in 22 dogs and adopted/reclaimed 27 dogs.  They also took in 86 cats and adopted out/transferred out 47 in the month of November. The Animal Shelter also took in 2 rabbits, 1 chicken and 1 guinea pig. They adopted/reclaimed/transferred 1 rabbit, 1 chicken and 1 pigeon. The Animal Shelter dealt with a total of 2 bite cases, both dogs. They responded to 32 calls and impounded 10 dogs and 15 cats. 

Review and approve November  2016, expenses for Coroner:

Motion by Czuprynko seconded by Lehman to approve payment of the Coroner’s expenses for November 2016 in the amount of $1,655.36. Bills discussed. Motion carried.

Review and approve November  2016, expenses for Sheriff:

Motion by Czuprynko, seconded by Lehman to approve payment of the Sheriff’s expenses for November 2016 in the amount of $106,760.46.  Bills discussed. Motion carried.

Monthly update on CJCC.

Nothing to report on.

            Calls for Service for November 5,607 calls

Overtime hours for November 2015 1,540.50 hours

Overtime hours for November 2016 1,057.50 hours 

Down 483 hrs from 2015

Prisoner Transports for November– 121 Transports

            22 Juveniles transported for November

            Juvenile housing cost for September October and November was $21,535

            Transport cost was $5,367.63

      Jail           

EM Report for November 153 offender days 

Collected $2,601.00 and invoiced $839.15

Difference of $1,761.85

The next regular meeting of the committee was scheduled for Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 04:15pm. Motion by Czuprynko seconded by Lehman to adjourn the meeting at 5:20 pm. Motion Carried.
