Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee

February 14, 2017

            The regular meeting of the Sauk County Law Enforcement Committee was held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 04:15 pm, in the Community Room, 1300 Lange Court, Baraboo, Wisconsin.

The meeting was properly posted and all interested parties were notified.

                        Members Present:         B. Wenzel, J.Deitrich C. Lehman, W. Czuprynko, T. Kriegl

Call to Order and Certification of Open Meeting Law: The meeting was called to order and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was certified by William Wenzel at 04:43 pm.

 

Agenda:  Motion by Deitrich seconded by Czuprynko adopt the agenda. Motion carried.

 

Approve minutes of Previous Meeting(s): Motion by Lehman to approve minutes from January 16 meeting seconded by Czuprynko. Motion Carried.

 

Communications:

-Apology letter to Deputy Stoddard and Deputy Giese from Bridget Hess

-Thank you card to Captain Lange for tour given from Stephanie Brickl

-Apology letter from previous inmate.

-Thank you email from a victim of a hit and run

Sauk County Animal Shelter operations update:

Animal Shelter took in 35 dogs and adopted/reclaimed 27 dogs.  They also took in 63 cats and adopted out/transferred out 44 in the month of January. The Animal Shelter also took in 9 rabbits, 2 parakeets, 1 rat. They adopted/reclaimed/transferred 6 guinea pigs, 1 rat and 3 rabbits. The Animal Shelter dealt with a total of 4 bite cases, all dogs. They responded to 30 calls and impounded 10 dogs and 12 cats. 

 

Review and approve January  2017, expenses for Coroner:

Motion by Czuprynko seconded by Lehman to approve payment of the Coroner’s expenses for January 2017 in the amount of $975.79.  Bills discussed. Motion carried.

 

 

 

Review and approve 2016 and January 2017, expenses for Sheriff:

Motion by Czuprynko, seconded by Deitrich to approve payment of the Sheriff’s expenses for 2016 in the amount of $30,804.91 and January 2017 in the amount of $428,379.62  Bills discussed. Motion carried.

 

Consideration of travel request in excess of 300 miles for staff member to attend the FBI Academy in Virginia. Motion by Deitrich, seconded by Czuprynko. Motion carried.

Spoke about the proxy that Sauk Prairie is currently working on.

            Calls for Service for January 5907 calls

                       

Overtime hours for January 2016 1309.25 hours

Overtime hours for January 2017 1050.75 hours 

Down 258.50 hrs from 2016

 

Prisoner Transports for January– 108 Transports

            21 Juveniles transported for January

            Juvenile housing cost for December and January was $16,645

            Transport cost was $6,469.36

EM Report for January 128 offender days 

Collected $2,176 and invoiced $779.28.  Difference of $1,396.72

The next regular meeting of the committee was scheduled for Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 04:15pm. Motion by Deitrich seconded by Czuprynko  to adjourn the meeting at 5:30 pm. Motion Carried.
