1.Braunschweig called the meeting to order at 9:00 and verified compliance with open meetings law
2. Meise moved and Fordham 2nd to approve the agenda, Passed
3.Meise moved and Fordham 2nd to approve the November minutes, Passed
4. Election of Officers:
Meise moved and Heidenreich seconded to nominate Pat Andreesen as chair. Meise moved and Fordham seconded to close nominations. Both motions passed
Meise moved and Heidenreich seconded to nominate Fordham as vice-chair. Motion passed

5. Review annual calendar: Meise moved and Fordham seconded to accept the draft annual calendar. Approved.
6. Review of County Library Board Bylaws: Discussion concerned officer term limits. No changes suggested after review.
7. SCLS report by Mark Ibach:
Directors will begin the annual report to the state today, due January 27.
DPI will be subscribing to a statewide subscription for a series of video on serving homeless
Wild Wisconsin winter web conference is available this week
SCLS has begun a needs assessment project to consider buying a building
In 2019 the system’s digitization project of historic materials began. Since then 25 libraries have used the service.In December the
LINKcat was upgraded with new software. Since then staff has worked to improve vision accessibility.Marty has been on medical leave.
8. Librarians’ reports:
Plain Report:
The library has replaced all of our chairs in the community room with new chairs. Wondering if anyone wants the old chairs roughly 110 plus cart for them. We are also looking at furniture to replace the worn out pieces in the children’s area. Service Electric was at the library and ran the cat6 cable for the new Wi-Fi routers. Got new step stools for in the bathrooms for kids to use. We have also started to look at converting a history area to include space to house a small study room/ conference.
January 23 will be the next Senior Movie and lunch program. We will be hosting a family game night on January 21. Will be starting work on the annual report, which is due to the system on Feb. 27.

Celebrated 1 year anniversary after the flood. Working on increasing low circulation. Received a grant for programming. Programs include a juggler/ storyteller, dreiftless stargazing, cockaoo rescue, Funfest, Halloween and Santa. Friends are helping with new programs.

Starting my next library certification class this week.
We are mostly focused on getting materials ready for raising money toward the new library/community center - we have committed to raising $100,000 toward construction of the new building and aim to raise $50,000 additionally toward furnishings and technology costs.
The village has selected ADCI from Lake Delton as the architect, and at last night’s meeting made a motion to purchase the land for building site.
Reedsburg Library Report 1/21/2020
Reedsburg staff are working on 2020 SLP planning for all ages. Our Adult SLP will be “Sharing your Story” and will continue our Senior Fun Day as well as the addition of an evening Memory Café. Youth programs will include Babygarten, Junior Lunch Bunch, Discovery Days, Loganville Book Bunch, and more.
Staff continue to work through changes, reporting of bugs & testing on the new ILS system.
Friends of the Library have pledged funds to replace window coverings in the Community Room. The Friends will be hosting their Annual Pie Day celebration on Saturday, March 14. Bakers and pie-buyers are welcome! The Friends are also working on developing programming and promotional events for National Library Week, April 19-25, 2020.
The Library commissioned 3 new benches through a partnership with the High School’s Advanced Welding class. One of the benches is a memorial to long-time Library Board Member, Tom Geimer and his wife, Delores.
Cuandos Cuentos Cuentas family program is continuing one Tuesday evening per month during our regular Family Fun Night. We’ve also added Colorin Colorado, a storytime for children from birth to age 5. Both bilingual programs are offered in partnership with Language Services Del Norte LLC of Reedsburg.
Ruth Culver Community Library Highlights
On January 7th, the grant application for the Arts, Humanities and Historic Preservation (AHHP) grant was mailed to the Sauk Co. Extension and a total of $1,450 was asked for to cover the costs of the Bluffview bookmobile project. Applications are due by February 1st, so winners should be announced shortly thereafter. The maximum amount of money that could be asked for was $5,000.
Holiday Sing-Alongs were conducted by youth services staff Bethany and Beth, which are always well-received. They played guitars, ukuleles, and sang at our regular story times as well as at Leaps and Bounds and 6:8.
Teen librarian, and assistant director, Meagan had a good turnout for her bath bombs and buttons teen program on December 10th with 8 teens participating in the fun.
We opened registration for the Instant Pot 101 class on January 2nd and by January 7th, 20 of the 24 spots were filled. Three staff members are looking forward to teaching this class on Tuesday, January 21st.
On Monday, December 30th we hosted a screening of Toy Story 4 with free popcorn and had a great turn out! 41 kids and 20 adults enjoyed the free movie and snacks.
The Bookmobile made its first stop in Bluffview on Saturday, January 4th and there were 11 attendees. We are still working on getting buy-in from the local community and hope to see more local residents in future weeks. I was able to spend the hour out there visiting with DCLS staff, talking with patrons, and seeing how the bookmobile operates.
This year the library participated in Holly Jolly Sauk Prairie. The library signed up to participate in the window display contest this year and the chili cook-off! Lauren served chili between 11-2 at the library on Saturday, December 14th. We also had a free activity for families to make and take stocking-stuffer hot cocoa, which included jars of cocoa mix and a toppings bar. We had roughly 150 people stop by the library for the event.
