Sauk County Library Board Meeting Tuesday, May 28, 2024

Present: Joan Fordham, Carolyne Kotchi-Aslaken, Glenn Slaats, Linda Kettner, Terry Slack, Shaun Harris

Others: Tut Gramling, Val McAuliffe, Nick Studnicka (PLA), Kylee Bear (SKC), Tamara Ramski (SCLS), Natalie Jones (LAV), *Lauren White (PDS), Jessica Bergin (BAR), Rebecca Anderson (RKS),

*Attended Remotely

 

  1. Joan Fordham called the meeting to order at 3:35 PM. Sue Ann Kucher verified compliance with the Wisconsin Open Meeting Law. Introductions of attendees took place.
  2. Adoption of Agenda: Slack moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Harris. Motion carried.
  3. Approval of the minutes of the January 2024 meeting: Kettner moved to approve the minutes of the January meeting, seconded by Harris. Motion carried.
  4. Public Comments: none
  5. 5. SCLS Report – Tamara Ramski: on file
  6. Review County Service Plan; consider appointment of subcommittee: Sue Ann Kucher went over basics of the plan. The plan needs to be reviewed/updated and forwarded to the library system and DPI by September of this year. Committee members will be Kettner, Slaats, and Kotchi-Aslaken. We would like 2-3 librarians to be on this committee. Interested librarians should let Sue Ann know.
  7. Consider recommendation of Tut Gramling for appointment to County Library Board: Slack recommended Tut Gramling be appointed to the County Library Board, seconded by Slaats. Motion carried.
  8. Budget Discussion
    1. Review Output Performance Measures from Library’s annual reports: Reports were distributed. Sue Ann Kucher briefly went over the data.
    2. County Reimbursement Funding Proposal: A spreadsheet for 2025 funding was presented.
    3. Consider formation of Budget Subcommittee: Sue Ann Kucher was directed to prepare a budget reflective of the numbers presented and funding for all libraries, Including Wisconsin Dells, at 100%.

  11. Adjournment: Slack moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Kotchi- Aslaken. Motion carried.
