Members present:     Scott Alexander, Marty Krueger, Yvonne Neumann, Jay Englund, Nicole Schlough, and Ellen Allen

Members absent:       Steve Pate, Amanda Hanson, Kathy Laatsch

Others Present:         Daniel Holzman

The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 3:05 P.M. Motion by Neumann, second by Englund to adopt agenda. Motion carried.

Motion by Englund, second by Neumann, to approve the minutes of the prior meeting.  Motion carried.

Public Comment: Daniel Holzman – DOC programming, Huber Center, and importance of family support, education, and vocational training for inmates.

Communications:  Team members with approved absences are reported.

OAR/OWL Diversion Program:  There have been twelve referrals to the OAR/OWL program; one from Reedsburg PD and eleven from the District Attorney’s office.  One participant is scheduled to start active case management on August 11th.

Brainstorming:  The group actively discusses the criminal justice population, trauma, and restorative justice principles.  The topic of re-entry has not been evaluated as of yet, and therefore, the group decides to actively research this topic.  The group also discusses prevention and its importance as the “foundation” of initiatives we look at.  It is determined that to narrow down the scope of research, J. Krueger will reach out to other CJCC’s to inquire on what re-entry initiatives have been tried, successful, and/or not successful and bring this information back to the next meeting.
